Dawood was responsible for the preliminary and final structural design of two bridges, five culverts, and a 668-foot soldier pile retaining wall. SR 0015 over SR 4011 (Steam Valley Road) is a single span composite prestressed I-beam structure; work included BRADD-3 runs which were modified due to BRADD-3 limitations. Steam Valley Road over Steam Valley Run is a precast CONSPAN arch structure. Dawood completed the hydrologic and hydraulic report for the stream relocation of approximately 1,300 feet of the non-detail studied Steam Valley Run. The hydrology was completed using the PSU-IV procedure, and the hydraulic analysis was completed utilizing the HEC-RAS computer program. Additional services included core boring inspection, Joint Permit Application (JPA) preparation assistance, and supplemental survey support. This $60 million project received top honors on ROADS & BRIDGES magazine’s Top 10 Roads list. The project which started in 2008 was completed in the summer of 2011.
