Dawood Engineering, Inc. is part of the design team for the redevelopment of student housing facilities throughout the Millersville University Campus in Lancaster, PA, along with Ambling University Development Group, Benchmark Construction, and Lord Aeck Sargent Architecture. This $180 million dollar investment will include construction of eight new residence halls that will replace the existing housing facilities on campus. The new accommodations will range from suites with shared bedrooms for freshmen to suites with private bedrooms, a living room and kitchenette. All suites will have individual heating/cooling controls. Each of the new dorms also will have game rooms, larger study rooms, a business center, Wi-Fi throughout and a “smart” laundry.
The construction will be built in phases over approximately five years, beginning in May 2013. The project will be financed completely through tax-exempt bonds.
