Dawood provided structural engineering and geotechnical services for the renovation of a 93,000 square-foot industrial building. Visual assessment, laser scanning, radiography, ground penetrating radar testing, geotechnical investigation, and concrete testing were conducted to determine the extent of repairs. Our team performed a structural analysis on a 90-foot, clear-span wooden bowstring roof truss system and designed local steel plate and post-tensioning bottom-chord rod repairs to correct deficiencies for 40 roof trusses.

In collaboration with the architect, we provided structural designs for a 2,800 square-foot vehicle entrance addition, an interior 4,500 square-foot storage mezzanine, a 1,500 square-foot, two-bay stone shed and a 400 square-foot loading dock addition. The Dawood team also performed structural analysis on an elevated two-way concrete floor system, specifying wall strengthening and floor assembly details throughout the building.
