Harrisburg, PA; February 12, 2018: Dawood Engineering, Inc. (Dawood) is pleased to announce the following promotions in its management team: Nicholas M. Brien, P.E. and Chad J. Decker, P.E., PTOE, were promoted to Vice-President. In addition, James M. Rodgers was promoted to Chief Strategic Officer.
Brien serves as Dawood’s Director of Bridge Engineering Services, leading the company’s bridge design group. He joined Dawood in 2005. Some of his recent project highlights include the ACEC Diamond Award-winning Spruce Street emergency bridge replacement near Scranton, statewide retaining wall and structure inspection and asset management for PennDOT Central Office, and multiple bridge replacement agreements in PennDOT District 4. A Penn State Graduate and Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Connecticut, Brien is Vice-Chair of the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s Transportation Committee and is Competition Coordinator for Future City, a STEM-focused competition for school kids focused on imagining and designing communities and their infrastructure.
Decker serves as Dawood’s Director of Highway and Traffic Engineering. He joined Dawood in 2012 and has 21 years of experience. His recent project highlights include a rehabilitation of the Mid-County Interchange in Montgomery County for the PA Turnpike, cable median barrier safety studies for the Interstate 81 corridor in Cumberland and Franklin Counties for PennDOT District 8, the design of Superload bypass lanes for toll plazas along Route 66 in Westmoreland county for the PA Turnpike, and multimodal transportation improvements for the MulDer Square area in Allison Hill for the City of Harrisburg. Mr. Decker holds BS and MEng degrees from Penn State University and is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Active in his community, Chad is a softball coach with the Cumberland County Magic travel softball organization.
Rodgers provides oversight of marketing and business development and will lead strategic initiatives within the company and for the management team. He joined Dawood in 2012. During his tenure at Dawood, the company has expanded to serve clients nationwide with office locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Massachusetts. Dawood has experienced significant growth as a prime consultant in the Transportation industry, established itself as a leader in service to the Energy industry, and continued its long history of serving residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developers. Rodgers is a member and Past President of Harrisburg Keystone Rotary Club and a 2009 graduate of Leadership Harrisburg. He holds a Bachelors Degree and Masters in Business Administration from Penn State University and is a Scholars Medal recipient.
